    Mr. Daniels
    served as Secretary of the Navy in the administration of President Woodrow Wilson during World War I, from 1913 to 1921, and as ambassador to Mexico in the administrations of President Franklin Delano Roosevelt from 1933 to 1941. He was a close friend of FDR and a North Carolina newspaper editor/publisher who supported the Democratic Party and Progressive policies such as women’s suffrage, public works, prohibition, and regulation of trusts and railroads. He was also a fervent supporter of white supremacy and the exclusion of African Americans from political power.
    There are three horizontal folds as mailed; there is light edge wear and creasing plus a few minor pencil notes: FINE condition.
