    Military Commemorative Cross / Badge of the GUNDOROV GEORGIEVSKY Regiment.
    GUNDOROVSKY St. George Regiment was formed in the autumn of 1918 after the Upper Don uprising. The Cossacks of the regiment were distinguished by their stamina in battles and ruthlessness towards the Bolsheviks. The village of GUNDOROVSKAYA , on the personal instruction of TROTSKY ( BRONSTEIN), was completely destroyed. August 26,1920 the regiment was granted silver trumpets with ribbons of the order of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker ( order of Commander-in-Chief # 3582). The distinctive sign of the Cossacks - Gundorovtsy were buttonholes from the St.George ribbon. After the evacuation of the Russian army from the Crimea , the regiment was part of the Don Corps, stationed in the CHATALJA ( Turkey ) camp.
    The Cross was covered with black matte varnish or black enamel .
