    Description

    Walt Disney Designer EMILE KURI Estate 1974 Sesame Street Disneyland LP ST 1357
    Walt Disney Designer EMILE KURI Estate 1974 Sesame Street Disneyland LP ST 1357
    Walt Disney Legend EMILE KURI Estate Collection by Saturday's Toys presents...
    a one-of-a-kind item personally owned by Academy Award winning set decorator Emile Kuri (1907 - 2000)
    Presented here, is one of Emile Kuri's personally owned Disneyland record albums, as preserved by his family for the past half-century.
    "Bob McGrath Sings for All the Boys and Girls" (1974);
    from Disneyland Records / 1357 / Stereophonic.  First Edition; original release.  Copyright 1974 Walt Disney Productions.
    The cover art with Bob McGrath is similar to that of famed Walt Disney Studio illustrator Paul Wenzel (designed Walt's likeness for the 1968 USPS 6 cent stamp; as well as the iconic artwork for publicity surrounding the original release of "Mary Poppins").  The style of illustration seems to shift in depicting the children on the album cover, possibly indicating that an additional artist may have assisted in the creation of the cover.
    Nicely preserved with original shrink wrap still in place; never opened.  The upper left corner of the cover may have had prior contact with moisture as the shrink wrap and paper is somewhat loosened with the corner worn in that location.  Still, a seldom seen early Disneyland LP album... from one of the hosts of "Sesame Street" starring Kermit the Frog, Big Bird, Oscar the Grouch and more. Interestingly, while the characters are referenced on the back cover, there is no mention of "Sesame Street" anywhere on this Disney album.  No one could have known at the time that after the passing of Jim Henson in 1990, his company would later be sold to the Walt Disney Company.
    As the record remains unopened; we are unable to provide photos of the record album, though clearly it has never been played.
    Bob McGrath also later wrote articles for the Disneyland Line cast member newsletter.  "Through the Looking Glass: An Incidental History" was published in several installments during Disneyland's 25th Anniversary year in 1980.
    Having won Oscars for his work on "The Heiress" and "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea"... Emile Kuri became one of the most trusted resources available to Walt Disney. Not only did he bring the 20,000 Leagues sets to Disneyland in 1955, but he personally worked with Lillian Disney in decorating Walt Disney's apartment above the Town Square fire department... and also in providing the historic furnishings for Walt's original Club 33 restaurant in New Orleans Square (1967).
    Emile Kuri's work included "It's a Wonderful Life", "Mary Poppins", "Davy Crockett", "Zorro", "Davy Crockett", "The Parent Trap", "The Happiest Millionaire", "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and many of Walt Disney's finest live-action films.
    Includes Emile Kuri Collection Certificate of Authenticity from Saturday's Toys and Disneyana Auctions.

    Saturday’s Toys and Collectibles
    was founded in 1994 by Southern California author and media historian, Dave Mason. Soon after eBay's launch the following year, Saturday's Toys was among the first online specialists to strategize in embracing this rapidly developing technology. Having delivered over 15,000 coveted treasures since that time, Saturday's Toys is pleased to partner with researchers and collectors throughout the globe.
    Today, online offerings of archival keepsakes are presented in celebration of the times that allow for family, friends and neighbors to join in memorable gatherings that nurture the strong connections that bind a community together. These treasures are affectionately represented by "Saturday's Toys." In that light we present our adopted motto (with a nod to the Sherman Brothers):
    "Oh, let's go fly a kite!"
