    ORIGINAL VINTAGE SHEAFFER BALANCE 500 LEVER-FILLING FOUNTAIN PEN - GREEN STRIATED PLASTIC

    Up for bids is a very nice vintage Sheaffer Balance 500 lever-filling fountain pen (not White Dot). The color is believed to be Marine Green striated plastic. The style indicates a date of manufacture between 1937 and 1945. The cap, barrel,
    and nib are generally in very good condition, with the exception of some residue around the barrel threads, where there appear to be the remains of a very old piece of tape that will need to be removed. The bladder is brittle and will need to be replaced.
    Barrel marked: W. A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. / FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A. / PATENTED IN U.S.A. / 500
    Nib: SHEAFFER'S Feather Touch MADE IN U.S.A.
    Measures: 4 3/4 inches in length.
    Condition: Generally good, in need of restoration. Light use wear to surfaces and metal trim. Will need to be cleaned and have the bladder replaced.
