Listed here is a vintage 1950s Sheaffer PFM I fountain pen
. PFM stands for "pen for men" as this was marketed at men. This design at the time was smart and substantial. It was so popular that Sheaffer still uses essentially the same design in its modern day Legacy and Heritage line of pens. The inlaid/integrated nib is quite fetching and the dimensions make for a distinctive looking pen that feels magnificent in hand.

The cap is in EXCELLENT condition. No dents, deep scratches, and or major wear. The cap fits securely onto the barrel. The imprints on the cap are entirely present and crisp. You can easily feel it as you run your finger over it.
14K GOLD INTEGRATED NIB
This Sheaffer PFM I's inlaid nib has been tuned for smoothness and flow. It, like every other PFM nib, is firm and well suited to precise and fast writing.
RESTORATION SERVICES
This Sheaffer PFM I pen has been cleaned and tested for function (filling and writing). It is READY TO WRITE upon filling with standard fountain pen ink.
A new correctly sized necked
Latex Ink Sac
has been installed with the addition of 100% Pharmaceutical Grade Talcum Powder (an exceptional dry lubricant).
Renaissance Wax
(yes, only the best) has been sparingly applied to the surface to protect and preserve the plast
ic
as well as metal surfaces
. Renaissance Wax is used by professional vintage pen restorers and other esteemed institutions such as the British Museum. It is great for protecting metals from oxidation and for protecting surfaces that often come into contact with hands.

Beyond making sure that the pens I restore write, I like to make sure they
write well. Using a loupe, premium micro-abrasives, and when necessary, specially made nib repair tools each nib is carefully adjusted to provide an enjoyable writing experience based on the particular characteristics of the nib. This Sheaffer PFM II is an absolute delight to write with.
The PFM I has been fully disassembled, cleaned, and has been conservatively polished.
A word on
SHIPPING

I only ship my pens in very durable telescopic pen packaging tubes (that are reusable too so please keep them). The pen is held in place in the tube with foam inserts. In the shipping box the pen tube is wrapped in bubble wrap and secured in place with packing peanuts.
