    Description

This collectible 2-ALARM license plate is from Wick Fowler's Two-Alarm Chili company from 1972 - just one plate. Wasn't used on the vehicle, just hung on the wall in the company's office since you could get by with just one license plate at the time.
Wick Fowler died in 1972, he was born Homer Thomas Wilson Fowler in Big Sandy, Texas. In 1964 he started his chili company, Wick Fowler’s Two-Alarm Chili. He was a journalist and participated in Terlingua, Texas' first chili cook-off.
The first Terlingua chili cook-off was in 1967, it was created and promoted by Frank Tolbert and friends. It had two only cooks in 1967, New Yorker, H. Allen Smith, and Texas legend Wick Fowler. This chili cook-off is still going strong today.
    Plate is 12 inches x 6 inches.
Two-Alarm chili is still available today but the company has been bought and sold many times and hasn't been in the Fowler family for a lot of year.
