    Description

Signed by its renowned author, Robert F. Kennedy, assassinated brother of JFK, U S Senator and Attorney General under JFK, on the FFEP with “For Walter with Best Regards” above, this is a stated First Edition with F-M beneath (designating August, 1962 as the first print), a first printing per convention of “Just Friends and Brave Enemies” (NY, Harper & Row, 1962), his second book.  .
Provenance:  The autograph is authentic.  The book belongs to a friend whose late father served in the DOJ from the Eisenhower through the Johnson Administrations.  His father knew many political leaders/authors and garnered many signed books, letters and documents during his service.  I’ve been asked to help liquidate some of them.
With one exception, the book is in very good condition.  Binding is well intact, square and reasonably firm with no damage to joints or gutters.   Exterior gilt lettering is bright and boards are clean with no bumps or tears.   Top page ends are a little toned.  Remaining page ends are clean.   The Exception – a scent of mildew.   It’s not too overbearing and there are no prominent physical signs of mildew but the book and jacket do bare a scent.  There are methods to remove it (sunlight/baking soda/dehumidifier) but I’ll leave that to the buyer.  With photos, interior contents are very good with no errant marks, names or foxing.  In a brodart cover, the first state dust jacket is in very good condition; price intact (.95) with “0862” code at bottom corner of fly leaf.  The jacket shows light wear and chipping to heel, corners and bottom edge as well as a short wrinkle at rear bottom edge.  Crown and top front edge show a small closed tear. White portions of panels are slightly soiled.  See Photos.
If you’re a collector of Camelot memorabilia, rare political signed 1sts or political autographs, this is for you.  The opening bid is 420.00 with no reserve and a reasonable buy it now.
Buyer pays .00 boxed and padded media rate shipping in the USA although I can ship it by any method, and insure it if requested in advance.
Shipping rates for International orders vary by location.  I can only ship this overseas by insured priority mail with international tracking.
Books are returnable in same condition for a full refund within 14 days of receipt.
