Sheaffer (Triumph) Autograph 1946 Personalized Lever Fill Set

Description

This is a very nice personalized Sheaffer (Triumph) Autograph set. Both fountain pen and mechanical pencil are personalized as follows: IRA F. GORDON / FROM / THE DEMING CO. 1946
The furnishings of both are, as would be expected of a 1946 Sheaffer Autograph, 14K gold.
A new bladder has been installed and the lever filling mechanism works as it should. The pen lays down a smooth fine line. The following is a list of the set’s faults:

Blemish and light scratch on the barrel grip near the nib. The corresponding photograph fails to show them properly, but in any case, they are slight.

The pen’s White Dot has a small, circular black spot at six o’clock.

The legibility of the lines of the pen’s barrel imprint fade toward the right-hand side. I am unable to explain this blemish as there is no evidence that it was the product of aggressive polishing.

An irregular strip of gold is missing on the pencil’s cone as can be seen in the corresponding photograph.

Removing the cap of the pencil requires more force than it should, probably the result of the cap’s shrinkage over time, but the propelling mechanism is in working order. Aside from the missing strip on the cone, there are no other blemishes on the pencil.
