In 1969 Sheaffer Pen launched the No Nonsense line of writing instruments.  The styling was a throwback to the era in American pen-making encompassed by the 1920s and 1930s.  The No Nonsense was an inexpensive writing instrument that was often provided to someone as a "First" Fountain Pen.  You must remember that the evil Ball Point Pen was really taking off in sales at this time, handwriting was faltering badly because of that, and companies like Sheaffer and Parker were trying to re-energize the more profitable fountain pen sales.  They needed to reintroduce this mode of writing to the youngsters so they launched entry level price points.
By the time the 1990s rolled around Sheaffer was selling a lot of No Nonsense Fountain Pens.  It was not only economical, but it was actually a very good quality writing instrument.  It was at this time that Sheaffer launched the Vintage Fountain Pen.  It was brand new of course but the appearance of the pen returned one to the grand pen producing days of the 1920s - hence the name VINTAGE was derived.  So while in the title we listed this as Sheaffer Vintage we don't want to mislead anyone that this is a 40 or 50 year old piece of fine writing jewelry.  In the late 1990s the VINTAGE Fountain and Ball Pen were Retired and replaced with the Javelin.

You get four of the 1990's VINTAGE Fountain Pens - these are all the top-selling Classic Black GT with FINE POINT nibs in one purchase!  Once again, all four writing instrumetns are Classic Black with 23K Electroplated Gold Trim and Fine Point nibs.  They are totally sealed in the carded version as you see in the image portion of this listing.  In 1994 when these particular pens were produced they sold in stationery and Hallmark Stores for to per pen.  Once again, they are a high quality pen for the money, the nib is stainless steel that is covered with a 23K electroplating.  This 23K electroplating also extends to the clip, trim and cap embellishment.  They are beautiful pens and most importantly - they are Retired.  So for very little money you can own an American-produced writing instrument that is no longer made, that has never been used, and that has the ability to enhance the writing experience of your kids, your friends or "yourself".
