Sheaffer Lifetime Balance Fountain Pen and Pencil set, green with military clip

Description

Sheaffer Lifetime Balance fountain pen and pencil set, dating from the 1940s. Green striated body with rare military clip. Fountain pen has fine point two-tone nib. Plunger-filler draws ink and writes smoothly, but screw-cap on the plunger does not stay attached to the plunger when you pull it to fill the pen. No ink window but body has excellent transparency. Pencil uses .9 mm lead which extends and retracts easily. No engraving, teeth marks or scratches, clips are tight to the cap and will hold to a shirt pocket. Strong imprint on both (pen is marked as 875) with no noticeable brassing or wear on the clips, cap rings or pencil nosecone. Pen is 13 cm closed, and 15.1 cm with the cap posted. Pencil is 12.9 cm long.
