    Description

    This listing is a Sheaffer's fountain pen . . . of that, I am certain. But in spite of its obvious design features, I am unable to accurately identify the pen's precise model. As seen in the scans, the pen has the company's Touchdown filling system, but whether it is a Tip-Dip or a different model is up to the bidder to decide. I could SPECULATE . . . Admiral? Cadet?, . . . but I choose not to state that in which I am not 100% confident.
    As viewed in Scan #1, the pen measures approximately 5 1/2" in length. Both the barrel and the cap are in the company's Pastel Green color. Scan #2 shows the various components of the pen disassembled.
    The
    surface of the pen remains in very nice condition, displaying only light, limited wear with no cracks, scratches, chips, or other signs of abuse or misuse being noted. A bit of brassing is present on the quarter-inch wide cap band; none is noted on the pocket clip, upon which the name "
    SHEAFFER'S"
    is vertically imprinted
    .
    Partially visible in Scan #3, three
    lines of imprint on the barrel read
    ,
    "
    W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO.
    ";
    below that,
    "
    FORT MADISON, IOWA, U.S.A.
    "
    ;
    and, below that,
    "
    MADE IN
    U.S.A.
    ".
    The single-toned, 14K gold nib is shown in Scan #4. It is
    undamaged with a very mildly worn iridium
    . Imprints on the nib read:
    "
    SHEAFFER'S
    ";
    below that,
    "
    5
    "
    ;
    below that,
    "
    MADE IN
    U.S.A.
    ";
    and, below that,
    "14K
    "
    .
    If any additional wording remains on the nib, it is concealed under the section
    .
    As is the case with all of the vintage writing instruments I offer for bidding, this pen was recently acquired at a local estate sale. I have not tried to fill or use the fountain pen; however, I did manually dip the nib in ink and as seen in Scan #5 it produced a fine written specimen. Given the information provided herein, the pen is being sold "as-is". P
    lease review the scans carefully
    . I will reply to your questions emailed to me in a prompt and factual manner.
