    Description

    Sheaffer Balance 3-25 pen in the rare 'blue' color, often called 'blue-black'. Gold filled trim.
    This is one of the nicest of these I've seen, with excellent bright color everywhere, really showing how shocking this color must have been at the time. It was only made for a short time in 1931-'32. Ringtop model.
    The 3-25 nib is medium and firm, with a pronounced italic quality -- wider on the downstroke than on the lateral stroke. See the writing samples.
