Description
Samuel Adams Bold Signature, with JSA LOAA portion of a document signed by Samuel Adams (1722-1803) as "Samuel Adams" at upper center. N.d., n.p., but probably signed during Adams's tenure as Governor of Massachusetts between 1794 and 1797. Placed directly above Adams's dark and elegant signature is a blind embossed paper seal of Massachusetts. The document fragment has been neatly separated along the seams of a vertical crease at right. Isolated stains to the seal, else clean and bright. Light pencil inscriptions verso. Otherwise near fine. The portion measures 4.5" x 8.75." Accompanied by a signed James Spence Authentication Letter of Authenticity (certification number BB07293) dated March 24, 2021.
Adams served as Governor of Massachusetts between 1794-1797. Before that, he served as Lieutenant Governor of Massachusetts from 1789-1794 and President of the Massachusetts Senate during the 1780s.
