Princess Marie Louise of Schleswig-Holstein (Franziska Josepha Louise Augusta Marie Christina Helena; 12 August 1872 - 8 December 1956) was a granddaughter of Queen Victoria, wife of Prince Albert of Anhalt.
Sir John Henry Eugen Vanderstegen Millington-Drake, (26 February 1889 - 12 December 1972) was a British diplomat and Minister to Uruguay during the Princess visit to Montevideo.
Lot comprised by:
a) 8" x 5" Card with printed photo of Princess Marie Louise and British Minister in Uruguay Eugen Millington Drake with wife. Card has bold signatures of them below it, and it's dated 1935. On the back there is the name and address of the collector. Condition: Excellent - (Card is folded in half, and there are mounting remnants on reverse)
b) Typed letter on British Legation in Montevideo stationery, hand signed by the UK Minister in uruguay, Eugen Millington Drake. Condition: Excellent -

From the collection of Alejandro Zorrilla de San Martín (birth: Montevideo, Uruguay, September 21, 1880 - death: Montevideo, Uruguay: December 12, 1941), who spent over 20 years collecting autographs mainly from prominent political figures worldwide. He used to send blank cards with a newspaper or magazine clipped photo of the person, attaching a letter asking for an autograph and including a self-addressed envelope.
