Description
KING EDWARD VIII OF ENGLAND. Edward VIII (1894 - 1972) was the King of England from January to December 1936, at which time he abdicated the throne to marry American divorcee Wallis Warfield Simpson and his brother George VI became King.Lot comprised by:
a) 8" 1/4 x 5" Front Page of Menu presented by S.A.R. "EL PRINCIPE DE GALES" to the President of Uruguay, Ing. José Serrato at the "Palacio Taranco" in Montevideo, dated August 15, 1925. Text is printed in gold letters, and both National shields are printed in full color with silver and gold accents as well. Bold signature of the prince on top area of card. Condition: Very Good - (Rather heavy foxing to card)

From the collection of Alejandro Zorrilla de San Martín (birth: Montevideo, Uruguay, September 21, 1880 - death: Montevideo, Uruguay: December 12, 1941), who spent over 20 years collecting autographs mainly from prominent political figures worldwide. He used to send blank cards with a newspaper or magazine clipped photo of the person, attaching a letter asking for an autograph and including a self-addressed envelope.
