Original 1887 Michigan Governor Cyrus G Luce Autograph Legal Document

This is an original State of Michigan Executive Department legal document from Governor Cyrus G. Luce dated January 20th, 1887. The document made for Charles W. Ballard of North Branch, Michigan Notary Public for the county of Lapeer, Michigan. Measures 16 by 10 1/2 inches and some neat folds but is in great condition as it has been stored all these years with the papers of Charles Ballard. Luce was Governor from Jan 1, 1887 to Jan 1891. He died in 1905 at 80 and from Gilead in Branch County, Mi. There is a county named after him in Michigan's upper peninsula as he was governor in the lumber era in Michigan. Besides the Governor autograph signature, the document is also signed by the Secretary of State.
