    Description

    Edward Thompson
    (1913-1995) He was a New York Judge and was appointed
    the 19th Fire Commissioner of the City of New York by Mayor
    Robert F. Wagner on January 1, 1962, and served in that position
    until his resignation on August 6, 1964. The FDNY has named a medal
    for Outstanding Courage in his honor. Autograph letter signed,
    16 January 1957, confirming a visit with a Boy Scout troop, plus
    a second autograph letter signed, 18 January '57, modifying his
    travel plans, both on folded lettersheet, scattered spots,
    folds, overall very good.
