    (1729-1795). Grandson of Pennsylvania founder William Penn, John Penn was the last colonial governor of that state.
    DS. 1pg. October 5, 1769. Philadelphia. A document signed "
    John Penn
    " as Governor of Pennsylvania. The document, written in another hand and docketed on the verso, concerns the Sheriff of Lancaster County. "
    I do approve of James Webb and Adam Rigest as sufficient sureties for James Webb Jun. in the due Execution of the Office of Sheriff for the County of Lancaster
