Description
For your consideration is outstanding English Georgian sterling Gravy Boat by William Sheen, London, circa late 1750’s-early-1760’s. The Piece is in excellent age appropriate condition (light wear from use), the only slight issue it has is the base of the handle has pushed slightly into the bowl portion of the Gravy Boat. This is a very minor and common occurrence. The Gravy is very heavy gauge silver, and has neat etched decorations, surrounding a great etched Boar’s Head crest. A very nice form and great proportions. The Piece is marked with a Leopard’s head, a rampant Lion, “W•S” in a rectangle, and a gothic date letter that is partially worn, it appears to be a C, G, or E. This dates the piece between 1758-1762. Height: 4 1/2 inches. Length: 7 1/2 inches. Width: 3 7/8 inches. Weight: 362 grams. Pa Buyers must pay 6% state sales tax unless tax exempt. Thank you for looking and good luck!
