Description
Welcome toAntiques & Moore!
This listing is for a lovely late 18th Century Georgian Sterling Silver footed tray/salver by John Schofield, c. 1784.
The tray has a classic beaded edge and sits on three decorative feet with beaded edges. There is a faint engraved oval medallion in the center containing the bust of a knight with rope swag above and a wreath below. The silver is marked with English hallmarks for London, Sterling, date letter for 1784 with maker's stamp for John Schofield.
Measures 1" high and 8" in diameter. Weighs 380 grams.
This lovely tray is in very good to excellent Estate condition commensurate with age. There are some faint no-harm surface scratches and small faint tarnish spots on the flat surface of the tray and there is a minor bend on the rim causing it to be slightly out of round. Each of these flaws is minor and does not detract from the beauty of this great tray.
