English GEORGIAN Sterling Scissor Form SUGAR TONGS-Maker IG-NR

Description

For sale is an English Georgian sterling sugar nips, maker IG, as is.  The piece is 4 3/8 inches long and weighs 21 grams. The piece has scallop shell grips and fancy arms and ring handles.  It has a brass center pivot.  It is monogrammed “B” and "T" on the hinge.  It bears an incuse “IG” maker’s mark inside both grips, with a lion passant inside one as well.
Condition on the tongs is fairly good.  The center pivot is brass and may be a replacement.  There is heavy wear from use, but no cracks or repairs.  A fine old sugar nips.
