Description

The Seated Liberty design was used for silver half dimes from 1837 to 1873, with several significant design/legend changes. This type has drapery at Liberty's left elbow, and was issued 1856-1859.  It is similar to the design for 1840-1853, but with the reduced silver content of 1853-55.
