Early Sandwich Tongs Martin & Naylor English Sheffield Silverplate C1850 Elegant

Description

We are pleased to offer a handsome silverplated sandwich tong from Martin & Naylor of Fargate, Sheffield, England.  Martin & Naylor became part of Martin Hall & Co. in 1852;  this piece would have been made prior to that date.  It is large and beautifully detailed with fabulously ornate filigree paddles.  Use it to serve anything you'd like - it personifies the elegance of a bygone age.
Condition:
Excellent - no silver wear or loss, shadows or heel wear.  There are no monograms and the pattern is crisp and well defined.  It has been hand polished so there will be no surprises.  Any dark spots in the photos are reflections only.
