For the motherboard without 5V ADD-HEADER: Please plug the 4 Pin connector of the CPU air cooler into the 12V RGB-HEADER ONLY. It will have a fixed mode with RGB lighting effect.
For the motherboard with 5V ADD-HEADER: Please plug the 4 Pin connector of the CPU air cooler into the 12V RGB-HEADERand plug the 3 Pin into the 5V ADD-HEADER.  Which will allow you to change the color as you like via the motherboard.
Also, They can synchronize with other ADD-RGB devices, Such as MR12 controller. Please plug the 4 Pin connector of the CPU air cooler into the 12V RGB-HEADER and plug the 3 Pin into the MR12 controller.
