Description
Rare antique 18th century Georgian sterling silver card tray, small salver or possible teapot stand bearing the characteristic hallmarks of Alexander Field, London, England circa 1801. The London panther is crowned. Silver weight is 118 grams. No apparent monograms but exquisitely engraved with a central wreath and very charming outer borders including those on the very rim edge. Even the feet have little dotted engravings to enhance their form. A lot of work went into this adorable little tray.Measures approximately 5 3/4 by 4 5/8 and stands about 7/8 inches in height. One foot probably bent as it wobbles very slightly on a flat surface.
Overall good condition as described above with minor surface imperfections from age and normal use. Would further benefit from polishing which I have not attempted. Money back guarantee as always.
