    Mohawkite Stone - Rough Rock Slab
    This Mohawkite stone slab is 6.5” x 5” by 1.75”.
    It weighs 1773 grams.
    Mohawkite is a rare semi precious gemstone that occurs in only one area in the world, the Mohawk Mine in Keweenaw County, Michigan.  The rock material is a combination of copper arsenates with pyrite, nickel, cobalt, and iron.
    Mohawkite is know for its unique, metallic copper inclusions.
    Copper ore can occur in veins, spots, streaks, or large masses mixed with the rock matrix. The color of the rock may be solid or a mixture of red conglomerate, green epidote, white quartz or black basalt.
    Uses
    This hefty piece can be displayed for its beauty.
    Sliced down further, it will yield many pre-forms for cutting quality cabochons.
