    Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Never Inked Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen, Model 1007, in the Chequered pattern with 23K gold electroplated finish. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned and put back together and now is in wonderful writing condition.
This fountain pen was part of a purchase from a Stationary Store in Georgia where I acquired nearly 25 New Old Stock Fountain and Ballpoint Pens in the Targa design - this is just one of them.
This writing instrument is a Sheaffer Targa Classic Fountain Pen and is model number 1007 with production beginning in 1976 till 1979. This Sheaffer Targa displays the Chequered pattern with 23-carat gold electroplated finish and trim fitted with a 14K solid gold nib.  The cap lip is stamped, "SHEAFFER U.S.A. SHEAFFER CROWN LOGO GOLD ELECTROPLATED". This Sheaffer Targa Classic will use either an ink converter or ink cartridges. The Ink Converter is supplied with this fountain pen which works and I have tested with water.
The cap and barrel have no dents or wear to the finish. The cap is always securing tightly to the barrel. The trim is perfect with no scratches or brassing. This fountain pen has a high shine to the finish as this fountain pen has seen very little use over the years.
This Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" inches capped and 5 3/4" posted. The diameter of the pen at the widest point is 11.26mm. The Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pen comes with the original box, fountain pen ink converter, two Sheaffer Ink cartridges, and Sheaffer documentation.
The Sheaffer Inlaid Nib is marked 14K Sheaffer 585 and is a factory extra fine point measuring .43mm when measuring with digital calipers. The extra fine line measures between .37mm to .43mm  under normal writing pressure when measured with digital calipers. The writing sample provided was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue Ink.
This Sheaffer Targa Chequered Model 1007 Fountain Pen with 23K Gold Electroplate Finish is one of the earliest patterns to be manufactured.  I would consider the condition of this fountain pen to grade in Excellent to Near Mint condition. If you are a collector of these Sheaffer Targa Fountain Pens then I would care to guess you will be very pleased with this one in terms of condition. This is a near mint example to add to one's writing arsenal collection.
Please review all my images as they are part of the description. If you have any questions, please ask. I have other restored fountain pens for sale, if you have the time, please look through my listings.
Please make sure to review my other listings as I have other vintage fountain pens for sale.
    Please Read Carefully Before Bidding:
I strive to find unique and difficult to find pieces that I believe will capture the attention of collectors. I spend a great deal of time traveling, talking with people, sitting at auctions and waiting in line at estate sales to find these pieces. Some of the items are "farm fresh" and some I have had in my possession for years and time to let others enjoy. Please make sure this item is what you want before bidding. If you would like different pictures or have concerns about damage, on whether it is repainted or repaired ask before bidding. If I can find out, I will. These are antiques so expect them not to be "perfect".
    Items:
I do not clean most items for fear of harm. I, unfortunately, am not an expert on anything, if you need any further info or pictures, please contact me before bidding. I will do my best to help you.
    Shipping:
.90 Standard Shipping w/Insurance. If you want faster service, please contact me to receive a quote. I will certainly combine shipping if you want to purchase more than one of my item's. Please note that if you are purchasing any of my items and you are outside of the USA, all items are shipped via the Global Shipping Program. The Global Shipping Program adds import charges, 3rd party fees, and shipping that are more than my quoted shipping price for USA / Domestic shipments. The Global Shipping Program is currently the only accepted shipping service that I use for non-domestic shipments.
    Refunds:
Item must be returned within 30 days of receiving it and in the same condition as received. The item cost will be refunded. (Buyer pays all shipping and insurance). Item must be returned with Delivery Confirmation. Item must be returned to qualify for a refund. I do not give refunds for uninsured items if they get broke in shipping. ( I do pack carefully, I do not want them to arrive broken.) Some of my listings include insurance on shipping. Please make sure they do, if not please request it, if you would like it added.
