C1959 SHEAFFER BURGUNDY PFM II FOUNTAIN PEN & PENCIL SET CHALK MARKED SET MINT

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this vintage circa 1959 New Old Stock Sheaffer PFM II Snorkel Fountain Pen & Pencil Set in Burgundy w/Stainless Caps. This fountain pen and pencil set are considered New Old Stock - Never Inked, except to dip test a writing sample.
The PFM came in five principal models, varying by cap and trim color. What we have here is the PFM II. The PFM models below for your reference:
PFM I
- Single color plastic cap and barrel, polished stainless steel clip and cap band, and palladium silver nib. The PFM I is the only model without the White Dot.
PFM II
- Frosted stainless steel cap and plastic barrel, polished stainless steel clip and cap band, and palladium silver nib.
PFM III
- Single color plastic cap and barrel, gold filled clip and cap band, and a 14kt gold nib.
PFM IV
- Stainless steel cap and plastic barrel, gold filled clip and plunger cap end plate and a 14kt gold nib.
PFM V
- Gold plated cap and plastic barrel, gold filled clip and plunger cap end plate and a 14kt gold nib.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks or repairs. There are no monograms or personalizations to the cap or the barrel. The fountain pen barrel has the original chalk markings that read, "PFM-II FINE .50". The cap is stamped with, "SHEAFFER Made in U.S.A." This Sheaffer PFM II Fountain Pen measures 5 3/8" in length capped and 5 5/8" posted. I have hand polished the stainless cap and PdAg (Palladium Silver) fine point nib. The pencil measures 5 1/8" inches. The pencil is chalk marked with, "PFM II .00".
Installed a new rubber sac; the o-ring and point seal have all been replaced with correct reproduction parts. The pen has been disassembled, cleaned and inspected for any defects before reassembling. The filling unit works as it was designed to. The snorkel tube moves freely and draws ink (water) as it should.
The Palladium Silver NIB has a fine point measuring roughly .56mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB writes extremely smooth for a Fine Point. In the writing sample provided, this NIB writes with a fine line which measures roughly .47mm to .57mm when measuring with a digital caliper. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-black Ink.
The PFM II Mechanical Pencil is in mint condition. It is a twist style operating mechanical pencil. The lead will propel and repel lead as it was intended to. The Eraser is in never used condition as well.
This Sheaffer PFM II set is hard to find in this condition with original Chalk Marks. This set is ready to write or just add to writing arsenal collection. I would consider this Sheaffer PFM II Set to be in Near Mint to Mint Condition and certainly a collector grade set that should be cherished in a deserving collection.

Refunds:
Item must be returned within 14 days of receiving it and in the same condition as received. The item cost will be refunded. (Buyer pays all shipping and insurance). Item must be returned with Delivery Confirmation. Item must be returned to qualify for a refund. I do not give refunds for uninsured items if they get broke in shipping. ( I do pack carefully, I do not want them to arrive broken.) Some of my listings include insurance on shipping. Please make sure they do, if not please request it, if you would like it added.
