C1953 SHEAFFER SENTINEL FIESTA RED SNORKEL M5 NIB FOUNTAIN PEN RESTORED

Description

For your consideration, we are offering for sale this Restored Circa 1953 Sheaffer Sentinel Snorkel Fountain Pen in the scarce Fiesta Red color with a conical 14K 2-Tone nib. This fountain pen has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned, and put back together and now is in wonderful operating and writing condition.
This fountain pen cap and barrel are in magnificent condition with no chips, cracks, teeth marks, or repairs. There are no monograms or personalizations to either the cap or barrel. The cap is stamped with, "SHEAFFER Made in U.S.A." The Barrel is stamped with, W.A. SHEAFFER PEN CO. FORT MADISON, IOWA U.S.A. MADE IN U.S.A.". This Sheaffer Snorkel measures 5 1/2" in length capped and 6 1/2" posted.
I have ultrasonically cleaned the Fountain Pen NIB, collar/section, feed, and tube. Hand polished the cap and two-tone 14K Nib. There is no brassing or wear to the cap or the gold-filled clip and cap banding. I have cleaned, buffed, and polished the barrel, cap, and blind cap to bring back the vibrancy and to protect the material of the fountain pen. I installed a new rubber sac, o-ring, and point seal - all been replaced with correct reproduction parts. This Sheaffer Pen has been disassembled, cleaned, and inspected for any defects before reassembling. The snorkel tube moves freely and draws ink as it should. COLLECTOR ALERT: This particular Sheaffer Snorkel has the all Fiesta Red section (normally these are black) and is an uncommon variant that collectors do not normally get a chance to acquire.
The 14K Sheaffer NIB is designated M5 which makes it Medium Nib. The point measures roughly .63mm when measured with digital calipers. The NIB writes with a medium line/stroke. In the writing sample provided, this NIB stroke measures roughly .63mm to .67mm when measuring with digital calipers. The writing sample was done with the actual pen in the images that are listed for sale. I have tested the filling mechanism with water and fills as it should. The writing sample was used by dipping the NIB in Parker Quink Blue-Black Ink.
The Touchdown filling system has been thoroughly taken apart, cleaned/restored, put back together, and added a dab of pure silicone to the Touchdown filling system for ease and smooth operational use. The filling system now has perfect suction and works flawlessly.
Any specks of white in the images are from the cotton that I used to clean the barrel and cap.
This Sheaffer Snorkel Fountain Pen in the High-Cachet Fiesta Red Color with the uncommon Fiesta Red section and is in ready to write condition or just add to writing arsenal collection. I would consider this Sheaffer Snorkel Set to easily grade in Excellent to Near Mint Condition.

Refunds:
Item must be returned within 14 days of receiving it and in the same condition as received. The item cost will be refunded. (Buyer pays all shipping and insurance). Item must be returned with Delivery Confirmation. Item must be returned to qualify for a refund. I do not give refunds for uninsured items if they get broke in shipping. ( I do pack carefully, I do not want them to arrive broken.) Some of my listings include insurance on shipping. Please make sure they do, if not please request it, if you would like it added.
