For your consideration I have this first edition of the Sheaffer White Dot Flat Top Jade Lady Fountain Pen.
The pen measures:
- 114mm capped
- 100mm uncapped
- 146mm posted
Fitted with a 14K non-flex LIFETIME LADY nib in what I consider to be a Medium point.
This is the 1st edition of the
Jade
Flat Top, that was made in the USA from 1924 to 1927.
The Jade Flat Top was introduced in 1924 and was discontinued in in 1928. From 1924 - 1927 it featured a single broad cap ring. In 1928 that was changed to two narrow bands.
Apart from the discoloring, the pen is in excellent condition.
Some wear of the gold fill at the ball on the clip and cap ring.
Otherwise just very light signs of use and age.
The lever mechanism works properly, but the pen needs a new ink sac.
Comes in an unbranded protective pen case and will be shipped by registered mail.
