    Description

By Fire and Sword - Tatar High Command
Summary: Set of unpainted miniatures for By Fire and Sword.
By Fire and Sword is a 15mm scale historical wargame developed by Wargamer. This realistic, playable and dynamic wargame recreates the 17th century wars in Europe, focusing on the periods between 1640 and 1676; a time of almost constant warfare waged by the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth on all fronts, in many cases with several enemies at the same time.
A number of khans ruled Crimea in the period from 1648 to 1676: Islam Girai III (1644-1654), Mehmed Girai IV (1654-1666), Adil Girai (1666-1671) and Selim Girai (1671-1677/78 and 1684-1691). At the start of this period, the Tatars were an enemy of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, later they fought as allies and by the end they were again an enemy.
The Crimean Khanate Army was organized according to the feudal model and the khan himself was its commander-in-chief. In battle he commanded the centre of the battle-line. The Kalga-Sultan – the heir of the khan (his brother or son) was the second in command and lead the right flank. Below him was the Nuredin Sultan – the second heir. He lead the weaker left flank. Beys commanded the forces of their vassals. Murza was the lowest commanding rank and sometimes lead smaller raids.
The box contains: 2 beys, 3 murzas, 10 standard bearers and retainers, 15 horses, 8 slaves, 10 farm animals, 1 set of Tatar standards, 2 4x4 cm metal bases, 2 3x8cm metal bases, and 4 4x3 cm metal bases.
This is sufficient models to field: 2 bases of Tatar bej .(high rank commanders), 3 bases of Tatar mirza (commanders), and 2 bases of Tatar captives (human and animals).
Mounted Tatar command with captives.  Multi-part metal miniatures  15mm scale.
Pack contains fifteen Tatars, eight slaves and ten farm animals.  Miniatures are supplied unpainted and require assembly.
