Description
This antique paper, hand signed by the then Postmaster General Amos Kendall ,measures aprox 10" x 16".It is on paper with the US Seal and titled Amos Kendall, Postmaster General of the United Staes of America.
It is hand dated May 183
7 and appoints Charles Satterthwait as a Postmaster on the 14th day of June in Bucks County Pennsylvania.
The paper is split in
half and folded and has a few stains on it (please see pics), but it is a fabulous piece of history. It also bears the embossed symbol of the Post Office Department with the man riding a horse.
