    Description

Presented is an old, sterling silver youth or child's mug or cup made in 1817 by Solomon Hougham, Solomon Royes & John East Dix of London. The cup is in an interesting barrel form and there is a lovely monogram on the front of the initials WJH.
The side is marked with the crowned leopard’s head for London, the lion passant for sterling silver, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter b for the year 1817 and a maker’s mark for Solomon Hougham, Solomon Royes & John East Dix.
This piece is in excellent condition, especially considering its age. There are no dents, no breaks, no splits, no monogram removals and no repairs.
The cup measures 2 inches in diameter, is 2 5/8 inches tall and weighs 89 grams or 3.1 ounces.
