Presented is a fine English sterling silver tall coffee pot. This piece dates to 1917. This is a very classically made lighthouse style coffee pot. The lid is hinged and has an urn shaped finial. The pot is raised on a pedestal type base. The handle is attractively curled and scrolled. The pot has a pouring lip rather than a spout. The interior is clean and the pot is completely useable. A very high quality and well constructed piece, made from thick silver throughout.
This piece is in great overall condition. There are a few small dings to the body but nothing excessive or noticeable. There are no splits, no chips, no dents, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the side with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter b for 1917, and the maker's mark for the Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co. Ltd. The interior of the lid is hallmarked with the maker's mark, the lion passant, and the date letter. The underside of the pot has the name and address of the company spelled out, "Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Company 112 Regent Street W."
The pot stands approximately 10 1/4 inches tall.
