    Description

Presented is a nice, Georgian sterling silver cup made in London in 1819. This piece is classically decorated with a repeated band of line designs along the middle of the cup and on the pedestal base. There is a lovely acanthus leaf accent on the top of the handle and the interior has a fine gold wash.
The side of the cup is marked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the crowned leopard’s head for London, a duty mark of King George III’s head, a date letter d for the year 1819 and a maker’s mark.
This piece is in good overall condition. There has been a solder repair to the front of the cup, wthich is visible in the second photo of the cup above. There are no major dents, no breaks, no splits, no monograms and no other repairs.
The cup measures 3 5/8 inches tall and weighs 119 grams or 4.2 ounces.
