Description
Presented is a wonderful English Georgian sterling silver serving tray or salver. This piece dates to 1805 and was made by Peter, Ann & William Bateman. The tray is done in an elegant, classical form, with a beaded design around the rim. The tray stands on three triangular feet, which are bordered by the same beaded design as the rim. The tray is clean as can be, with no monograms, inscriptions, or engravings. This is a rare and highly desirable piece by these renowned silver makers, and would make a great showpiece addition to any silver collection.This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no cracks, no monograms, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter K for 1805, King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for Peter, Ann & William Bateman.
