NOTE ~
there is a seemingly matching shaker (matching sterling finial and cut crystal body) being sold separately; combined shipping is possible. Both have the same hallmarks and both have "JE" stamped (upside down) next to the hallmarks.

A very nice eBayer pointed out that the stamp that looks like "31" is actually an upside down "JE" for Silversmith John Emes.
Details:
Front facing stag head symbol ~ crest ~ heraldic emblem
Dodecagon (12-sided) body
Elegant handle
Sterling lid opens and rests comfortably open (see pictures)
Sterling marked with the lion passant for sterling silver, King George tax mark (1786-1821), "F" for 1801, and "31" (not sure why)
Size approximately:
4 1/2" tall closed
5 3/8" tall open
12-sided ovoid shape 2 3/4" long by 1 1/2" wide
Sterling top is an oval shape
3" across from the handle
Condition:
Excellent condition for the age ~ there is a chip on the edge of the foot (which could be easily ground out)...
