Presented is a fine Georgian English sterling silver serving ladle. This piece dates to 1796. The ladle is done in a classic Rounded Antique type pattern, with beautiful bright cut engraving on the handle. The end of the handle has a monogram of AMC in elegant script. The ladle has a deep, round bowl, great for serving soup, punch, or whatever else you like.
This piece is in great overall condition. There are a few minor dings to the bowl. There are no splits, no breaks, no major dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head crowned for the city of London, the date letter A for 1796, King George III's head duty mark, and the maker's mark WS, likely for William Sumner.
The ladle is about 13 1/4 inches long.
The ladle weighs 163 grams or 5.7 regular ounces.
