    Description

Presented is a nice antique Scottish sterling silver serving spoon. This piece dates to 1790. This is a large, long-handled spoon, sometimes called a platter or stuffing spoon, and is appropriate for any general serving purpose. The spoon is done in a very simple and clean style. The handle is monogrammed with a 'B' in elegant script. This is a wonderful antique piece of Scottish silver, and would be an excellent addition to any table or collection.
This piece is hallmarked with the thistle guarantee mark for sterling silver, the towers mark for the city of Edinburgh, the date letter K for the year 1790, and the King George III head duty mark.
This piece is in great condition. There is some surface wear throughout, as should be expected since this piece has not been buffed. We believe there may have been a monogram removal to the handle, but if so it was quite well done and extremely hard to notice. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, and no repairs.
This spoon is approximately 13 inches long.
This spoon weighs 93.7 grams or 3.2 ounces.
