    Description

Presented is a fine quality, heavy weight English Georgian sterling silver salver tray. The round tray is raised up on three legs and has handsome threaded decoration around the rim and on the legs. The center of the tray is engraved with a great crest of a bird perched on top of a shield. One side of the shield has sheaves of grain and a cross on the other side. Many years after the tray was originally made a presentation was engraved on the underside that reads ‘Lillian Henry Rose, 1930’.
The tray is fully hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant, the leopard’s head crowned, the date letter ‘O’ for 1789, the duty mark of King George III’s head, and a maker’s mark of IC over TH for John Crouch I & Thomas Hannam.
The condition is excellent. The tray has some light surface wear to the flat surface and some small dings here and there, but there are no major dents, no splits, no breaks, and no repairs.
The tray measures 8 1/8 inches in diameter and the height to the rim is approximately 1 1/8 inches.
The weight is 422.1 grams or 14.8 ounces.
