Description
Description:I found this copper kettle at auction in Maryland.
I don't know the history, but I've seen this style attributed to England in the 1800s.
The kettle is 10.5” tall to the top of the handle.
Made of copper, but the trim is probably brass.
Weighs 2 pounds, 14 ounces.
It has an ornate design is chased into the lid, the top and the sides.
The handle is scrolled and probably had wood at one point.
The interior is not lined with tin as I've seen with French pots.
Condition
:
Not polished.
Small leak along the bottom welded area. It can probably be welded or epoxy can be applied to fill the join.
Dent on the side.
Some corrosion at the spout.
Please see close-up photos.
