    Description

Presented is a great group of 6 English Georgian sterling silver coffee or 5 o'clock spoons. This is an assembled group, with individual pieces dating to 1785-1798. The spoons are all done in a similar bright-cut style. Two of the spoons have a monogram of DF on the end of the handle, with a third spoon having a monogram of PF on the end of the handle. The other three spoons have no monograms.
These spoons are in great overall condition. There is some surface wear, commensurate with age and use. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
All the spoons are stamped with the lion passant for sterling silver and King George III's head duty mark. Two of the spoons have the maker's mark for Peter & Ann Bateman and the date letter C for 1798. Two of the spoons have the maker's mark SG, possibly for Samuel Godbehere and the date letter K for 1785. One spoon has a maker's mark that is partially obscured, with a date letter q for 1791. The final spoon has a maker's mark of TW possibly for Thomas Whipham and a date letter n for 1788, with some sort of import or export mark.
The spoons range in size from 5 inches to 5 3/8 inches.
The total weight for the set is 87 grams or 3.1 regular ounces.
