19th C. English Queens Pattern Sterling Silver 112 Pc. Flatware Set for 12 - SL

Offered here for your consideration is a
wonderful, large, Late Victorian sterling silver flatware set in the Kings pattern. This large set is special in having 24 dinner forks and knives - allowing for complete settings for 2 separate entree courses.
The set dates to the mid to late 19th century.
The set is very well preserved and appears to have seen little use over the last 130+ years. It is principally hallmarked for the workshop of John Aldwinckle & James Slater, London, sterling silver, and 1880. There are some pieces marked for John Aldwinckle's & James Slater's successor; George Aldwinckle, London, sterling silver, and with dates of 1882. The knives are associated and marked for Robert Roskell, Allan Roskell, & John Mortimer, London, sterling silver, and 1887.
The pieces are masterfully crafted with a very heavy gauge silver. They are noticeably heavy to hold with a wonderful hand-feel. Each piece is monogramed with a conjoined Aesthetic Movement conjoined CO initials.
The 112 piece set includes: 26 Dinner Knives, 12 Bread & Butter Knives, 24 Dinner Forks, 12 Salad Forks, 12 Large Table Spoons, 12 Teaspoons, 12 Dessert Spoons, 1 Gravy Ladle, and 1 Condiment Spoon.
The set is in overall good, as-pictured used estate condition with
some very light edge wear, some fine and light surface scratches and other signs of light wear consistent with age to the sterling silver. The steel blades are basically well preserved with some rust and small spots of pitting.
