This listing is for a beautiful 19th Century English Sterling Silver candy dish/bowl with pierced/reticulated decoration, c. 1894. This lovely dish sits on a low pedestal base with the bowl area alternating between solid silver panels with an embossed scroll design and reticulated panels with a stylized floral design.
Marked in the center of bowl with English hallmarks for "Sheffield, Sterling", date letter for 1894 and maker's stamp for James Dixon & Sons who registered their hallmark in Sheffield, England in 1867.
Measures 2" high with a 7" diameter top and a 2 5/8" diameter base.
Weighs 169 grams.
The silver is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal signs of normal wear.
