Description
William O. Douglas (1898-1980), the U.S. Supreme Court Justice,signed this 3 1/2" x 4 3/8" card imprinted: "Supreme Court of the United States Washington, D. C." on March 15, 1944.
Appointed at the young age of 40 by Franklin D. Roosevelt, Douglas served the longest term in the history of the Supreme Court, 36 years and 209 days (1939-1975).
Condition:
Mounting remnants and inked identification on verso, otherwise very good condition with a strong signature.
