Beautiful antique English sterling silver chocolate pot or teapot. It has a Bacchanal theme with a baby bacchus on finial and Bacchus mask on the spout. Incredibly intricate design all around and on lion mask and paw feet.
This has a date mark of 1890 and is by Edwin Thomas Bryant. I believe this may have been made in Holland and exported to England with London silver hallmarks. There is a hallmark in the center with a lion and a key, then another with AB and 2 other letters I can't decipher. It is about 9.25" tall and is in very good condition for its age with normal wear, no monograms, no obvious dents and opens and closes quite well.
It is right at one pound with handle on and 15 oz with handle off. Lovely!
