    Description

Here is an original 3 page typed (dictated) and signed letter by Secretary of the New York Society for the Suppression of Vice Anthony Comstock.  Each page has the Vice logo in its upper left corner with its 150 Nassau St. Room 9 NY address.  and it is dated June 21, 1887.  Each page measures approx. 8" by 10  1/4" with 2 holes at the top for filing purposes with horizontal and vertical fold marks.  Blank reverse sides.  The signature has some smudging of the ink as evidenced by the scan.  The first page has a blue ink notation scrawled at the top - I can make out "July 13" but not the first part.  Overall very good condition with a few stray marks, smudging of the typewriter ink (particularly on page 2) and some edge toning.  Great graphics of the NYSSV logo depicting a perpetrator being marched into captivity and a Vice Suppressor burning objectionable materials.  The letter's content is addressed to Nathan Judson Esq. of Lansing, Mich. regarding a Quit Claim Deed on a parcel of land.  Thanks for looking at this auction.
