Presented is a fabulous English Victorian sterling silver platter, basting, or serving spoon. This piece dates to 1860 and was made by George Adams. The spoon is done in a classical Fiddle pattern, with distinctive shoulders above the bowl. The handle has an interesting crest of a hand holding an imperial crown, associated with the Robertson and MacDhonnachaidh name.
This piece is in great condition. There are no splits, no breaks, no dents, no monogram removals, and no repairs.
This piece is hallmarked on the underside with the lion passant for sterling silver, the leopard's head for the city of London, the date letter e for 1860, Queen Victoria's head duty mark, and the maker's mark for George Adams.
The spoon is about 11 3/4 inches long.
The spoon weighs 108 grams or 3.8 regular ounces.
