    This is a letter signed by Thomas Ewing dated 1855 to to his son Hugh "Boyle" Ewing.
    Thomas Ewing was a National Republican and Whig politician from Ohio. He served in the U.S. Senate as well as serving as the secretary of the treasury and the first secretary of the interior. He is also known as the foster father of famous American Civil War general William Tecumseh Sherman
