    This is a letter signed by Walter Forward dated 1841 to U.S. Attorney General Hugh S. Legare regarding decisions by the General Land Office and asking for Legare's viewpoint.
    Foward was the 1st Comptroller of the Treasury and later became Secretary of the Treasury.
